Getting In/Out of Cars is No Longer Difficult
Getting in/out of cars to attend essential medical appointments or just for leisure can be difficult for some people with mobility issues, but Hospital Direct’s car assist range has been designed to help make travel enjoyable and not something to worry about.
The car assist pack has been specifically designed to help a person get into and out of the car with greater ease and comfort, with a leg lifter, car door strap, webbing belts and handy bar all contained in one handy carry bag.
There are two varieties of car assist packs available, one suitable for those who have the ability to get in and out of vehicles on their own but need a little bit of help, and the other for those who need support form a carer, friend, or family member.
Products included in the car assist pack include a car slide sheet which help people swivel in and out of a car with ease. This can be used on its own or in combination with Hospital Direct’s Leg Lifter which offers assistance lifting one or both legs into and out of the car, ensuring independent mobility.
The lightweight, easily transportable leg lifter can be stored in the glove box for easy access and be used independently or with minimal support from a single carer.
Designed as an aid to stand when rising from a vehicle, the Handy Bar is a very simple but strong and reliable aid to mobility. The Handy Bar can be slotted into the U-shaped striker on the inside of the car door frame on either the driver or passenger side to provide a soft and comfortable non-slip handle providing support when standing.
The packs also contain Kneeling Pads to provide cushioning for carers, Simple Webbing Belts to provide extra support for those helping people in and out of cars, and a Car Door Pull Strap which enable people to close the door without having to stretch too far.
All of the car assist products are also available to purchase individually to suit personal needs.
