Health professionals working in A&E find Hospital Direct’s Emergency Manual Handling Pack offers the ideal fall management solution at the scene of an emergency. This pack, designed in line with guidelines for safe patient transfer during resuscitation, contains all the equipment required to manoeuvre a patient who has collapsed – a small slide sheet, a pair of flat slide sheets, a set of extension straps and a designated lifting sheet. Tested up to 150kg (23.6 stone), the pack offers ultimate patient security and support when there is no choice other than to lift a patient manually, improving fall management.
Take the weight off with Patient transfer boards
Hospital Direct’s Samarit Rollboard range allows health professionals to carry out easy slide board transfer and to gently push patients across a gap between two surfaces. The patient transfer boards have a strong, hard-wearing design making them suitable for repetitive use. The foldable patient transfer boards can be easily carried and stored but, if particularly frequent use is required, Hospital Direct can also provide disposable covers and a dispenser to complete the Rollboard range. The dispenser pack also includes a mounting hook and four mounting holes and, once the Rollboard is attached to the wall, disposable protective covers can be pulled off one by one to reduce infection risk.
Made from nylon cloth, the Samarit Rollboard’s anti-bacterial and anti-fungal fibres also help to reduce infection; increasing infection prevention control measures, and improves patient security. The Infection Prevention and Control Torch can be a useful aid in controlling infections.
