A concealment trolley device for patient respect
Hospital Portering covers a vast aray of scenarios and tasks throughout the normal working day. So much so, that practical tools are needed to save time and money in every environment that a hospital Porter is called to.
One such environment is in the unfortunate area of transporting a deceased patient from their place of death to the mortuary. Hospital Direct’s XCcube® is the ultimate dignity-in-death concealment type device, allowing the portering of deceased patients from ward to mortuary as respectful as possible.
Until now, the long-standing solution to the transporting of deceased patients to the mortuary has been the use of a blue sheet over the body. However, this is not ideal as hospital patients and visitors can still make out the outline of the departed.

Instead, the XCcube® is a compact system that allows practitioners to ensure patient respect for the deceased is maintained; in keeping with CQC standards for end of life care. The hospital concealment trolley is a lightweight frame that expands in seconds to cover any bed, from paediatric through to bariatric sizes, and can also be used on trolleys, cradles, or other surfaces supporting deceased patients.
The XCcube® concealment trolley type system also eliminates the need for healthcare practitioners to undertake a patient transfer before transiting from the ward or other location of death to the mortuary.
Fibreglass tubing on the XCcube® also prevents egress of contamination and both the mortuary concealment trolley and its covers can be easily wiped down for future use.
