To support radiology services in acute settings, Hospital Direct offers an X-Ray Insertion System that reduces the manual handling risks associated with taking mobile X-rays in hospital.
No longer will healthcare professionals have to log roll or sit patients forwards or disturb them in any way when carrying out mobile x-ray services, as the X-Ray Insertion System only requires two staff members, one of whom is the radiographer.
Comprising of a Quilted Cassette Holder, Double Slippy Insertion Tube and a pair of Deluxe Extension Straps, this system will change radiology services for the better, reducing handling risks associated with mobile x-ray services such as excessive movement of patients, increased risk of ventilator-induced pneumonia, skin tissue damage, and poor patient handling by staff.
The quilted patient-specific X-ray plate covers ensure patient comfort and also have handles on each of the shorter sides to help staff re-adjust the positioning of the plate. Health professionals can also attach straps to these handles to enable easier insertion, especially for heavier patients.
Hospital Direct’s X-ray cassette covers are available in two sizes to suit standard cassettes and the newer, larger Digital Detectors with washable versions also available.

A washable RT Positioner has also been developed with health practitioners. The simple solution enables radiographers to position their patients far more precisely than has been possible before.
The RT Positioner sits behind a patient’s breast or pelvic area, and allows staff to use the integrated handles to re-position and precisely line the client with the lasers used for mobile X-Rays. This removes the need to manually manoeuvuer patients, therefore reducing the risk of tissue damage.
