Surface-to-Surface Patient Transfers Made Effortless
A transfer board is an important tool in patient handling and they are prominent in all sectors of healthcare. One of the most prominent products is a curved sitting sliding transfer board. Some people refer to these as a Banana Board because they are in the shape and colour of a banana; hence the term ‘banana board’. A curved sitting ‘Banana Board’ is a flat surface used to bridge the gap between two surfaces.
We call ours the Samarit Curved board which comes in a bright colourful yellow that is pleasing to the eye. This sliding transfer board is one of our most popular, and can help a person move from one surface to another; for example, from a bed to wheelchair, chair to toilet, wheelchair into care.
