Extension Straps

Hospital Direct’s Wipeclean Extension Straps reduce the risk of caregivers over-stretching and over-reaching during supine patient transfers.

Until now, many carers have injured themselves while performing supine patient transfers. Over-reaching and over-stretching to position patients can cause carer strains and other injuries all too easily. However, caregivers can now use Hospital Direct’s progressive Wipeclean Extension Straps to prevent these injuries.

You can use the strong buckle at one end of each extension strap to attach the straps to a lateral transfer board. Then, grip the straps’ raised handles and use a hand-over-hand technique to transfer a patient from a bed to a trolley or vice versa. Once you have completed the transfer, we recommend keeping the straps with your glide sheets so all equipment is together when next needed.

These straps are in high demand in many medical settings. You can easily wipe the straps down or wash and rinse them in soapy water between uses.

We stock the Extension Straps in black (standard) and orange (high frequency, welded, wipeclean and designed for infection control). Please specify which you need when ordering. The straps come in packs of two so practitioners can work in pairs when transferring patients.
