Modern Slavery Act Transparency in Supply Chains Provision (Section 54) of the Modern Slavery Act (2015)

This statement explains how Hospital Direct (Marketing) Ltd ( Company Registration Number: 03902966.) is committed to ensuring that modern slavery or human trafficking has no place in any part of our business or our supply chains.

Hospital Direct (Marketing) Ltd is a leading manufacturer and supplier of patient handling equipment with the largest range of its type in the world. From our manufacturing base in Shropshire, England, we supply healthcare establishments across the UK and increasingly globally. Our customers include the NHS, Private hospitals, major Loan Store providers, the community and home care. We employ staff in manufacturing, logistics, despatch and Sales and marketing and all recruited are recruited largely from the local area, although not exclusively as our sales teams extend across the UK.

Hospital Direct (Marketing) Ltd takes its responsibilities very seriously and always strives to work to the highest professional standards and comply with all laws, regulations and rules relevant to our business. We aim to improve the impact of our business in society and expect the same high standards from those other businesses with whom we work.

This statement details our compliance with current UK legislation. In particular: Transparency in Supply Chains Provision (Section 54) of the Modern Slavery Act (2015) and our commitment to ensuring there is no slavery or forced labour in our business or supply chain.

We have therefore taken the following steps:

  1. Each year we contact those businesses within our existing supply chain to seek confirmation that they are compliant with Transparency in Supply Chains Provision (Section 54) of the Modern Slavery Act (2015)
  2. These commitments are built into our procurement process for new contract awards April 2021 onwards.
  3. Each year we provide awareness training to our staff on the obligations for our business. This will include an explanation of what is meant by Modern Slavery or any of the other terminologies used such as bonded labour, slavery, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking.
  4. Our Anti-Slavery procedure for our business is reviewed annually and the updated version published internally to all employees.
  5. Hospital Direct (Marketing) Ltd continues to review its policies and processes to ensure the highest standards in its supply chain, as expected by our customers and the business we work with.

    This statement is made in relation to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for our 2021/2022 financial year.
