SLIDING TRANSFER BOARD / SELF TRANSFER BOARD
Hospital Direct’s Samarit Selfglide is a fantastic transfer board for patients looking to regain their independence.
Unassisted surface-to-surface transfers can be daunting. But this sliding transfer board makes it easier than ever to move from bed to chair, chair to wheelchair and wheelchair to bed. Whether your patients are looking to transfer themselves independently or with a little assistance from a carer, the Samarit Selfglide’s lightweight construction spans gaps between surfaces so they can transfer effortlessly.
Samarit manufactures the sliding transfer board from HDPE to ensure ultimate strength and durability despite its slim design at only 10mm thick. This also makes it easy to slot the board into a carry pack on the back of your wheelchair between uses. Meanwhile, Samarit’s blue, anti-slip adhesive helps achieve strong positioning on a bed, chair or wheelchair to prevent slipping during transfers. You’ll also find an ergonomic handle at the square end of the board, which will help you support yourself as you transfer to another surface.
The transfer board is most suitable for patients/clients who have strength in their arms to move without assistance. Those who would like some support may find it helpful to use the board with a Minicare Cushion.
You won’t want to be without this inexpensive, handy product, especially if you’re mobile and often on the go.
